Software for dental technicians, orthodontic laboratories, orthodontic clinics and chains, 3D printers houses, scanners producer.

Digital Technician Studio is intended to support digital data processing in main area of dentistry and orthodontic applications. Our goal as a software development company is to simplify the complex processes involved in the doctor's work in a clinic with the aim of achieving added value (by facilitating understanding and use of software, providing free and unrestricted exchange of data, offering scalable solutions in line with user’s current needs and ensuring a more streamlined division of the tasks of the clinician and the technician, according to their best competences).

The key to success in this area is a standardized diagnostic model in a specialized software package for health care professionals. Such a model is provided by DDP-Ortho. The DDP-Ortho file format comprises a complete set of optimal diagnostic data and is perfectly suited to the needs of the small clinic via "In House" production or with use of the same technology for large users in "mass production". We base on more 100.000 diagnostic models done until 2019. It offers a much higher level of modelling quality than the typical STL files basically used to save dental models. The DDP-Ortho standard is supported by the DTS (Digital Technical Studio) production software package for dentist/orthodontists, technicians or printing houses. DTS comprises Digital Model Builder modules (for the digital processing of occlusal scans) and a Digital Model Editor (for supplementing scans with the anatomical details necessary for later processing and use).

It is possible to cooperate with a clinic or provider within its own separate, (Business) network structure, and we can deliver solutions "for network supervisors" / company owners together with the necessary online tools. If you are interested please write to us to discuss this option.

This package (DMB & DME) is intended for orthodontic laboratories, orthodontic clinics and 3D printers houses keen to make their own independent diagnostic models and their own aligners or indirect bonding trays:

  1. Creating working models from intraoral scans and typical 3D laboratory scans (compatible with an available STL file)
If you have a scanner, you do not need any supporting software to make (ready to use) STL files. All you need is DMB software. The cost of converting STL files into ready-to-use data in our store is EUR 3 - 5 depending on the size of the purchase. As a consequence, you can opt out of paying annual fees to access scanner software. Instead costs are directly connected with the actual case in hand. A description of DMB is available on our web.
  2. Preparing a diagnostic virtual model in DDP-Ortho format from an STL model (DDP Ortho is an unrestricted, medically certified specialized software package for orthodontists available free of charge).
A diagnostic model produced in the DDP-Ortho standard (click the link above to see details and functionalities) makes it possible, among other things, to: - produce a 3D visual set-up for aligners without filling out long questionnaires, create an automated set-up for 3 different approaches (one of which, "on the arch", is presented in real time in movie)
    - add notes completing the patient's digital documentation or additional ordering documentation when using it. Work that begins with an STL file requires DME software (it is suggested that this task be performed by a technician or digital assistant). In our store the cost of conversion is 5 - 8 EUR, depending on the size of a one-time purchase. A DDP-Ortho standard model is (also) useful for planning aligner treatment, and the set-up required for this can be performed by the orthodontist independently or outsourced to an Ortolab laboratory in PL or sent to your local technician. The design prepared in such a way, which preserves the occlusal conditions indicated by the orthodontist, is then checked by a clinician. If the occlusal design requires refining, this can be done by the orthodontist independently in DDP Ortho by clinician themselves or another approximation can be ordered from a technician until the design is approved. The approved design saved as a DDP-Ortho file is then ready for the task of preparing the aligners / positioners, which are made in the laboratory. The procedure involves setting the tooth offset paths and IPR stripping values, as well as the use of attachments. The ready file is sent to the orthodontist for final approval and work can begin on manufacturing the aligners (in practice, either in an "In house" system or outsourced to a laboratory). DME offers the freedom of scalable "in house" or shared CAD / CAM manufacturing for all types of orthodontic orders (including aligners, IPA, and indirect bracket bonding ).
  3. Producing jigs for indirect bonding of brackets - IPA (3D printed handles)
This tool is scalable in DME for various production volumes (regardless of the scale of the 3D printers or single "in house" printer). It requires a high-resolution printer.
  4. Producing trace for indirect bonding of brackets (thermoforming sheets technology)
This tool is scalable in DME for various production volumes (regardless of the scale of the 3D printing house or single "in house" printer).
  5. Production of "window traces" for indirect bonding of brackets / window for bracket base (3D printing technology)
This tool is scalable in DME for various production volumes (regardless of the scale of the 3D printers or single "in house" printer).
  6. Production of Aligners
this tool is scalable in DME for various production volumes (regardless of the scale of the 3D printing house or a single "in house" printer). This software function enables all procedures to be carried out “in-house” and provides detailed information on an ordered set of overlays intended for treatment (attachments, stripping, etc.). The cost of conversion in our store is 15 EUR.
  7. EasyDriver for temporary TAD type anchorage (microimplants) designed for anchoring previously manufactured devices (the microimplants and manufactured device are mounted simultaneously); ready for use in our DDS Pro or EasyDriver software.
